Ensembles at Pickens High School

Symphonic Band meets during 4th period both semesters.   The Symphonic Band performs on four concerts during the school year, including Large Group Performance Evaluations.  Symphonic Band generally plays music from the GMEA 5 and 6 level list.

Concert Band is 2nd period.  The Concert Band usually plays music from the GMEA 3 and 4 level list.  The Concert Band performs on four concerts during the school year, including Large Group Performance Evaluations.

The Pride of Pickens Band is a volunteer, extra-curricular ensemble.  All band students who are interested in marching are allowed to join and anyone may audition for Color Guard.   The marching band performs at all football games, the Jasper Christmas Parade, Veterans Day Parade, and Marble Festival.   The marching band also competes twice a year.

The Color Guard is an auditioned group that performs with the marching band.  Auditions take place in April of every year and the Color Guard is directed by Mrs. Clarissa Curtis.

The Winterguard is an auditioned group that performs from December-March of each year.  Auditions are held in late November.

Jazz Band is an extracurricular group that meets from November-May.  Instrumentation is based on traditional jazz setups, but may incorporate other interested players.
